Executive Summary
Health Care Financing Administration has developed a one-page version of its advance beneficiary notice form, which is given to Medicare patients before they receive a medical service for which Medicare may not pay. Simplifying the document was among the top five priority issues recently identified by doctors for HCFA to address, the agency says. The revised form can be found on the HCFA website at http://www.hcfa.gov/regs/prdact95.htm. Comments are due May 20
