Boehringer Mannheim Chairman Otto Meile, who also is responsible for all Roche activities in Germany, succeeds Jean-Luc Belingard as head of the unit Oct. 1 and assumes a spot on the Roche executive committee. Belingard, who joined Roche in 1982 and was picked to lead the diagnostics operation in 1990, is returning to France from Basel "for family reasons, where he intends to pursue activities" outside of Roche, the company says
