Clinical trials of the interbody fusion system for lumbar spine fusion procedures begin immediately following investigational device exemption approval, the firm reports May 21. Compared to competing systems, "the InFix interbody fusion cage does not violate endplate integrity and accounts for differing disk width, height, and lordosis, or bed of the spine," Stephen Hochschuler, Texas Back Institute, claims in the company's release. Spinal Concepts highlights the system's modular design, which provides "numerous options" for matching lordosis, plate size and disc height.
