Response filed by Molecular Dynamics denies the Perkin-Elmer unit's March 13 complaint alleging that Molecular Dynamics' MegaBACE 1000 DNA sequencing system and FluorImager 595 imaging system infringe two ABI patents. The response sets forth "a variety of affirmative defenses against the patents, including their invalidity," Molecular Dynamics says. The firm also files a counterclaim that it "owns rights under two patents which are infringed by certain" ABI sequencing systems, including the firm's Prism 377
