Silicone breast implant litigation: Louisiana Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals votes 3-0 Jan. 30 to uphold the Dec. 1 ruling by New Orleans federal court Judge Yada Magee decertifying the class action status of the state's 1,800 SBI recipients suing Dow Chemical ("The Gray Sheet" Dec. 8, I&W-8). The plaintiffs had requested review and reversal of the decertification ruling. Further action in the decertified case has been suspended pending Dow Chemical's appeal of the jury's Aug. 18 Phase I finding that the company could be sued for injuries alleged to be caused by the implants...
