HCFA SEEKING REPEAL OF REGIONAL LAB CARRIERS PROVISION IN BALANCED BUDGET ACT, according to 1999 budget documents released by HHS Feb. 2. The Health Care Financing Administration wishes to eliminate the BBA's stipulation "requiring the establishment of regional carriers for laboratory claims," the department says.
