Medtronic Reveal: Insertable loop recorder (ILR) launches in Europe and Canada for long-term monitoring and recording of electrical activity of the heart that may suggest cardiac arrhythmia. Placed in the chest region under a patient's skin, the 2.5 x 3/4 inch device features sensors that continuously record electrocardiogram signals. The system can be programmed to record and store up to 42 minutes of ECG data and lasts about 14 months, Medtronic says.
