Executive Summary

SEN. KENNEDY TO SUPPORT INCLUSION OF CFC-POWERED INHALERS BILLS IN S 830 during conference of the FDA reform bill. The Massachusetts Democrat is understood to be willing to accept the inclusion of Sen. Tim Hutchinson's (R-Ark.) S 1299, and its companion legislation in the House, Rep. Mark Foley's (R-Fla.) HR 2627, which would prevent FDA from banning metered-dose inhalers for asthma which use chlorofluorocarbons as the propellant until acceptable alternative products are available.
