Laserscope: Acquires 52% controlling interest in NWL Laser-Technologie, GmbH, an Eckental, Germany-based manufacturer of medical and industrial erbium:YAG, pulsed Nd:YAG, ruby, argon, krypton, and CO2 lasers. NWL, whose financial operations will be consolidated with Laserscope's, reported 1996 revenues of approximately $6.5 mil. and a pre-tax operating profit of 5% in 1996. NWL provides a European marketing outlet for Laserscope, and "also gives Laserscope a very important European manufacturing and R&D site," Laserscope President Robert McCormick says in a June 19 release...
