ELEKTA ACQUISITION OF PHILIPS' RADIOTHERAPY DIVISION will allow Stockholm, Sweden-based Elekta to market Philips Medical System International's linear accelerator technology alongside its Stereotactic Body Frame, thereby broadening its offerings to cancer centers worldwide. Elekta announced Nov. 21 a letter of intent to acquire full ownership of Philips' radiation therapy business in a transaction expected to close in early 1997.
