MEDTRONIC SYNCHROMED INFUSION SYSTEM 10 ML VERSION LAUNCH is slated for this summer, the firm says. A premarket approval application supplement for the downsized implantable and programmable drug infusion system, capable of holding 10 ml of drug, is pending at FDA, Medtronic states. Seventeen percent thinner than the currently marketed 18 ml version, the new pump would be used "for pediatric use or for those patients who are very small or thin" for all currently approved applications of the standard size device, Medtronic says.
