Executive Summary
BIRD PRODUCTS AVIAN VENTILATOR RECALL 50% COMPLETE and expected to be wrapped up by the end of July, the company says. Under the Class I recall, Bird Products is retrofitting all Avian adult and pediatric transport ventilators with a kit which modifies the units' pneumatic components to prevent an internal accumulation of oxygen that could lead to combustion. In addition, some of the ventilators require new capacitors because their existing capacitors are apt to malfunction, further increasing the chance of combustion.
