Ivac to begin U.S. shipments of SmartSite needleless IV system in July.

IVAC TO BEGIN U.S. SHIPMENTS OF SMARTSITE NEEDLELESS IV SYSTEM IN JULY, with international sales anticipated by the end of the year, the firm states. The needleless intravenous injection valve port, which received FDA 510(k) clearance April 4, initially will be available in conjunction with IVAC Medical Systems' currently marketed MedSystem III and Signature Edition intravenous infusion pump systems. IVAC also plans to integrate the SmartSite into "a wide variety of gravity IV tubing products, extension sets and components."
