SmithKline Beecham Clinical Laboratories/Cigna: Ink first-ever sole-source physician reference laboratory/managed care provider agreement. The deal covers about three-quarters of Cigna's 5 mil. members; those receiving services at sites with in-house lab facilities and leased sites are not included in the deal. SBCL will be paid on a set per-capita basis, regardless of usage volume, that allows for risk sharing.
