EPA DISINFECTANT EFFICACY TESTING PROGRAM will complete assessment of the approximately 130 tuberculocides registered with the Environmental Protection Agency within two years, according to EPA staffers. In January, the agency resumed testing of disinfectants, focusing on tuberculocides, after a four-month interruption. Eventually, EPA plans to test the estimated 1,200 registered hospital disinfectants, a process which could take several years, agency staffers predict.
