Executive Summary
Plans an April 1995 submission, with partner Hoechst, of a premarket approval application for an implantable insulin pump for diabetes, company COO Peter Rule tells analysts Nov. 29 at the Robertson Stephens medical conference in New York. The pump is placed subcutaneously in the abdominal area and the catheter is then "tunneled into the peritoneal area" to dispense insulin, Rule said. The PMA will be accompanied by a new drug application for the concentrated insulin to be used with the device. Hoechst will manufacture the drug
