HIGH FLUX DIALYSIS LINKED WITH INCREASED PYROGENIC REACTIONS in the Center for Disease Control and Prevention's annual survey of hemodialysis facilities. Of the 898 facilities engaged in high flux dialysis that responded to the 1993 survey, 26% (p < 0.05) reported one or more incidents of pyrogenic reactions. Of the 1,405 respondents not performing high flux dialysis, 18% reported incidents of pyrogenic reactions.
