FDA Deputy Commissioner for Policy Michael Taylor

Named administrator of the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service, responsible for meat and poultry inspection, effective Aug. 15. FDA Associate Commissioner for Policy Coordination William Hubbard is expected to become acting deputy commissioner until a replacement for Taylor is found. The position is a political appointment.
