Executive Summary

Senate Appropriations Committee reports out a fiscal year 1995 FDA spending measure that includes $150 mil. in new user fees for deficit reduction from unspecified industries regulated by FDA. The measure further recommends $924 mil. for salaries and expenses, up $55 mil. from 1994. On June 17, the House approved $921 mil. for FDA salaries and expenses, including $6.5 mil. in mammography facility user fees ("The Gray Sheet" June 20, p. 5). The total FDA budget of $979 mil. approved by the Senate committee is in line with the budget passed in the House
