CHOLECYSTECTOMY MORTALITY RATE IN MARYLAND DROPS 33% between 1989 and 1992 in conjunction with the state's move towards laparoscopic cholecystectomy, Claudia Steiner, MD, MPH, et al., Johns Hopkins University, report in a study published in the Feb. 10 New England Journal of Medicine.
