Begins shipping its first commercial device, the OrthoFrame external fixation device for treatment of complex bone fractures. The device offers "significant advantages over existing products," the company claims in a June 22 press release, because it is shipped preassembled in sterile packaging and incorporates "radiolucent, carbon fiber-epoxy materials".
