Reduces worldwide work force by approximately 250 people, or about 15%. Acuson says it is undertaking a major restructuring due to "uncertainties caused by the recession, slow market conditions" and health care reform. As part of the restructuring, Acuson will incur a charge of roughly $12 mil. during the second quarter ending July 3.
