Executive Summary
Announces agreement with Ocular Research of Boston under which it gains exclusive worldwide rights to manufacture and market a series of new ophthalmic solutions developed and patented by ORB. The new over-the-counter solutions include "lubricating and rewetting solutions" for prescription contact lenses as well as "artificial tear preparations." A single PMA application was filed this year for the solutions, which can be used with or without contact lenses; profits from sales will be split between the two companies. The solutions use "specialized lipids, including phospholipids, to reconstruct and thicken the tear film" to prevent drying of the eyes without blurring vision.
