Jane Williams, former Health Industry Manufacturers Association congressional affairs director, joins the health policy staff of Ranking Republican Nancy Kassebaum (Kan.) on Jan. 19. Williams, who was a health staffer for former Rep. Vin Weber (R-Minn.) before moving to HIMA in June ("The Gray Sheet" June 15, In Brief), is covering FDA issues for the committee. The panel's three-member health policy staff is being directed by Andrew Patzman, a former legislative assistant on Kassebaum's personal staff who will lead work on health care reform. The health group is filled out by Marty Sieg-Ross, MD, a former faculty member of Georgetown University Medical School, Washington, D.C., who has responsibility for all non-FDA Public Health Service affairs....
