External defibrillator manufacturer is working to expand the capabilities of its PD 1400 external defibrillator with a family of modules currently under development, Zoll President and CEO Rolf Stutz told the Hambrecht & Quist life sciences conference in San Francisco Jan. 12. The modules include a pulse oximeter, which is being developed with Nellcor, and the PD 1500, a semi- automatic, user-friendly portable resuscitation device geared toward the ambulance and pre-hospital market.
