Executive Summary
Legislation reintroduced by Reps. Peter Hoagland (D-Neb.) and Constance Morella (R-Md.) would appropriate $2.5 mil. annually in medical facility grants to encourage sharing of expensive medical equipment. The legislation (bills H.R. 73 and H.R. 286, respectively) also would exempt hospitals from antitrust laws that prevent equipment sharing collaborations.
